May 4th was my 2nd wedding anniversary, so this month I decided to share a glimpse into my wedding album with you all. Outside of this month being really sentimental and special for my husband Kyle and I, I can’t help but wonder how all you 2021 brides are doing…you all deserve a round of applause, am I right!?

My sister-in-law Ericka Swink got married April 17 and it was the most beautiful day ever, so whatever happens - I am rooting for you! For those of you planning on your own - you’ve got this! I planned my entire wedding with just my mother-in-law and close friends (no planner) and can assure you that all your hard work will pay off…just don’t sweat the small stuff! Remember to enjoy the day of your wedding :)

I even include the two people who did my hair and makeup on MY wedding day two years ago ;) Shelley Johnson (hairstylist & extension master) and Jeannie Kaiser of Todd’s Room (makeup artist) along with a close friend Ilse Devereux, who I know you will LOVE.

1. Ilse Devereux

I’ve introduced you all to Ilse before and since then she has started helping me grow my personal network of Detroit female entrepreneurs through her involvement with Level Detroit. Ilse is not just a great friend, she’s amazing at bridal/event makeup and she even has a team of aestheticians in Birmingham who can help you achieve perfectly glowing skin!

2. Jeannie Kaiser

Jeannie did my makeup for my wedding day and is an expert at what she does. She has been doing makeup professionally for 26 years with Todd’s Room in Birmingham and her calm nature really made my day-of-wedding prep so easy! I would trust her with my face any day and highly recommend her for special events, especially weddings!

My wedding hair went from up to down in the most effortless, glamorous style artistically executed by Shelley Johnson. Funny story…her wedding services include unlimited hair trials (AMAZING), but I was so busy with work that year that I never got one trial! Judging from the photos I share here - I think you can imagine why I would recommend her to you all as well. See below for my wedding hair! I was OB.Sessed with each style.
