One thing my team is doing an amazing job at this year is planning unique events unlike your traditional open house. Most recently, we hosted a hugely successful art event at Chap Lofts with our developer partner Uniland and sponsors Chris Kemp from Flagstar Bank, First American Title, and Shelby Dubin Photography. We hung artwork on every single wall we could within the Chap Lofts building starting from the lobby, to inside all the gorgeous lofts available for sale. The property’s high ceilings and modern design aesthetic really feel like an art gallery at times, and it was awesome to see the building come to life in a new way.
The best part of it all? The entire night featured artwork from artists part of PASC, Progressive Art Studio Collective, a non-profit organization based in Detroit and Wayne County dedicated to supporting adults with developmental disabilities and mental health differences advance independent artistic practices and individual career paths in the art and design fields. PASC runs three studios in Westland, Detroit, and Southgate, Michigan, as well as a virtual art studio program.
We had music, food, cocktails and it was the perfect vibe for all to enjoy. We also ended up selling a ton of artwork, and all proceeds were split between the artists and PASC. Several agents walked through the exhibit who later made showing appointments with their clients, so I’d call the event a win for all! This felt different compared to the usual open house because every room (even the bathrooms) was activated. In order to highlight both the property and artwork to the fullest, we were very mindful of staging as well.
