Now more than ever, it’s important to support our local restaurants and retailers! You guys know its no secret that I love to go out to eat and try new spots around town, and while Kyle and I have been cooking up a storm during Quarantine, sometimes you just need that carryout fix. I found this website that lists out ALL the restaurants in metro Detroit that are still available for carryout. It’s the best site I’ve found with the most extensive list of literally all the restaurants out there!

But we can’t forget about our local retailers either! So check out 3 of my fave local restaurants and retailers, below.

SheWolf

Mercato Shewolf is the name of their carryout service—simply sign up for their email list and you’ll get weekly updates on new specials, pastas, grocery items, and wines. You’ll email them your order, then they call you to confirm your order and pick-up time. I recommend ordering some of the homemade pasta and one of their incredible sauces to turn your Quarantine night in, into a fancier night for you or your family!

Grey Ghost

Grey Ghost is selling burger kits—need I say more!? They also have a beautiful carryout menu full of other family size meals including enchiladas, Arrabbiata seafood pasta, ingredients to make cocktails at home, and a pack of take and bake chocolate chip cookies!! (Def ordering those cookies.)

Marrow

Marrow is absolutely killing it by offering fresh, locally sourced meat and produce boxes. They also have meal kits to make sandwiches, meatballs, pasta, and more! There’s wine and beer available, and a ton of surprises you wouldn’t expect. Check this one out, especially if you’re all about learning new recipes!

Bird Bee

Bird Bee's locally owned and operated flagship storefront is located in Detroit's historical Capitol Park on the ground floor of the Albert. If you haven’t been to their brick & mortar—race there once Quarantine allows us to go places again because they have an incredible shop for gifts—apparel, jewelry, accessories, and more!

For now, shop their online store! I included some of my fave items below.

A great pick from Bird Bee’s online store—If you know me then you know I'm usually always in black—I love this top and the ability to dress it up or down. Can’t wait to wear it.

Well the 90s are back! I’m loving this 90's inspired python bag from Bird Bee. Can’t wait to pair this with some white denim and tease my hair to really honor my glory days all over again.

ferne.png

Detroit-based and female owned, Ferne carries tons of local makers and a variety of fashionable (yet affordable) styles. Free shipping is being offered if you shop with them online, so pick something up now and be sure to visit once their storefront re-opens.

Check out a couple of my favorite items available now below!

How cute is this mug from Ferne?! A rainbow always comes after a storm, and I think we could all use this reminder. I’m definitely purchasing this, and encourage you to pick one up too! Surprise a friend or colleague with a local find.

red dress.png

Love this red dress for work from Ferne, too! It’s sweet and sassy. My Quarantine look has been full of yoga pants lately (who else will admit to this with me!?), but can’t wait to wear this dress and step it up when this is over.

Katie from Sundance Shoes (located in West Bloomfield and Birmingham) is doing a PHENOMENAL job keeping inventory updated online. They don’t have an online store, but go to their Instagram or Facebook page—all you have to do is DM her on IG or FB, or give them a call! I always love supporting this family-run business, and have purchased tons of shoes and clothing from them in the past. I’ll definitely be supporting Katie and her business and encourage you guys to do the same :)

It seems like Sundance Shoes updates their Instagram almost daily, so head there for all the latest inventory! RIght now, Sundance is even offering $20 off every $100 spent in gift cards, which is a perfect way to save money on your future purchases 😊 DM them or text/call 248-755-9291 to purchase.

I hope this inspires you to continue supporting local during these challenging times, and hopefully we can all shop face-to-face, in-person soon! Please DM me your favorite local spots on Instagram and I will check them out while I’m home during Quarantine. XOXO-Erica
